The Winter Holiday Season is here; wishing everyone a happy, joyous, safe and peaceful Holiday Season-whatever you celebrate.
Unfortunately, the economy is still not very encouraging with lots of uncertainty. Climate change continues to be a major issue with no easy solution on the horizon. But take heart, Sun is still in Sagittarius, the sign of expansion, higher learning and long-distance travel-even if it's only from your favourite armchair.
The Holidays are a great time to get out and socialize, exchange gifts and expand the day to day horizons-maybe even a walk on the far side. Whatever, enjoy!

Right on! Sisters ARE doing it for themselves and everybody else. I have a sneaking suspicion that it's always been so. In any case, all of us are well aware of the current economic woes. And guess what, we're doin' it even more.
A few days ago, I heard a very interesting statistic on a radio newscast . Men actually have a higher unemployment rate in this current recession (depression for the unemployed) than women. Industuries that are typically male dominated have been harder hit, whereas fields dominated by women, caregivers, early education are suffering less. What does this tell us? It's very simple, Sisters. We've been holding down society's most indispensable positions all along? So why has our pay been substantially lower than the guy's? Could we start seeing a flood of guys flocking to traditional women's jobs? If so, will we see pay scales rise when men realize that health/human service jobs are indeed REAL work? Frankly I hope to see the day.

The nights are long and dark, getting longer and longer for some time to come. And the world continues to be as challenging as ever. We all need a "warm fuzzy" now and then from our friends. One of my friends was kind enough to share a very nice "warm fuzzy" with me and I'm passing it on to you. Yes, I know-the world's a long way from being perfect and peaceful. But this beautiful video will give you some good vibrations-enjoy!
Do you believe in magic? Magic is a nice thing every now and then. I've just put up a new line (still working on it) of Mythical & Magical Creatures. Well Fall is officially here. Feel a little crisp in the air? The days are certainly a lot shorter, but none the less full with all the goings-on in the world. Everybody's back at school and football fans are enjoying their favorite sport.
In spite of the fact that Mother Nature is preparing for a winter sleep, for many of us the Fall is a new start-the traditional time of harvest, bringing in the crops, maybe a time of personal accounting with the start of a new school year. For many of us old-timers, Fall is a time of nostalgia-footballs games, dances, starting new courses, meeting new friends-gee, wouldn't it be nice to be able to get so excited about something? So in the spirit of new beginnings, I'm sharing a few of my favorite quotes.
Summer is rapidly coming to an end. Sun is now in critical,
analytical Virgo. Times are tough - world-wide recession (or depression),
global warming, you've hear it all, right? Recently, we've seen the
passing on of many cultural icons - Michael Jackson, and Walter
Cronkite, to name a couple. But life goes on. We Boomers just
celebrated Woodstock's fortieth anniversary and students have
returned or will be returning soon. The beat goes on, the buzz never ends.
